3D Vasculase works by applying a narrow 980nm laser beam to target the vein using a precise application. The red blood cells in the thread veins absorb the laser energy, causing the blood within the vein to heat up, damaging the wall of the vein. This reaction causes the thread vein to close down. Once the vein has closed down, the body absorbs it, causing it to disappear.
What are thread veins?
Thread veins (also called spider veins, broken blood vessels, broken veins or capillary veins), are small red, blue or purple veins that typically appear near the surface of the skin on the thighs, calves and ankles and face.
Treatment explained
3D Vasculase involves directing intense light directly at the veins. This causes the blood within them to coagulate. The blood is then diverted to where it should be, in veins deeper below the surface of the skin.
Is 3D Vasculase safe?
This treatment is safe and effective in treating thread vein removal. 3D Vasculase uses proven technology to ensure fantastic results with a fast treatment time. As with all laser treatments, we normally wear protective eye-wear during the treatment. All laser safety protocols must are adhered.
What results can your client expect?
The veins are permanently removed after the treatment. However, clients should bear in mind that this does not mean new ones won’t develop. Hormonal changes, pregnancy, weight gain and occupations that involve being active can all be contributing factors.
What will your client experience during the treatment?
During the treatment, as laser technology is used, your client will feel a minor heat sensation as the laser moves across the skin. You will be able to see the vein visibly disappearing during treatment.
Who is a good candidate for the treatment?
Suitable candidates for this treatment include patients over the age of 18 with concerns about the appearance of thread veins. During training, we will cover how to conduct your client consultation prior to treatment, including asking the client to complete a consultation form. From this, you will be able to identify any contra-indications which may deem your client unsuitable for the treatment.
What areas can be treated?
This treatment can target thread veins on a number of areas on the body including thighs, calves, ankles and face.
How many treatments are required?
As the 3D Vasculase treatment is permanently removing the vein, only one treatment is typically required. However, your client’s treatment plan will need to be assessed during consultation as this may vary depending on each client.
How long until your clients see the results?
Results can be seen instantly with the vein visibly disappearing during the treatment.
Is there any downtime / aftercare required?
Initially, following the treatment, the area may appear red. This is just the skin’s natural reaction and it should settle within 24 hours. We will provide you with aftercare leaflets to give to your clients.
Face
Thread veins are most commonly presented on the face, and can be caused by a number of factors and lifestyle contributions including sun exposure, skin trauma, genetics, pregnancy and alcohol consumption amongst more.
